The night was again cool and nice for sleeping. The sun rose shaded by clouds and dueled for preeminence all day. We did have some rain showers soon after getting underway. Then strong S/SE winds in the afternoon. Temperatures warmed to the pleasant high 70s.

The day started with a beautiful sky that I captured flying the drone over our anchorage spot.
For a while we have been passing what seems to be levees and dikes. As it turns out, what we are seeing is irrigation systems for the growing of rice at one time. What was interesting is we have seen work being done on the levees and flood gates. And there is activity of some sort in some of the levee sites
The day was again a tussle between the clouds and the sun. We started our day's trek through the land cut to Winyah Bay.
We passed a "floating" vehicle bridge that is a barge that moves into position across the waterway. Kind of interesting.
And we are on the Winyah Bay headed toward Georgetown.
And behind us were clouds that produced a wonderful rainbow first and then we got a good dose of a shower.
From Georgetown we are traveling up the Maccamaw River. It was a beautiful ride but we did "buck" the tide all the way to Bucksport - think that is what it is named for? Nope - see below/
The country is very much full of swamp land as you can see here.
And in a few places development has made its way to the edge of swamp. A nice marina - Wacca Wache Marina - and condos and golf course is such a place.
And then back into the wilderness.
And then we arrive at Bucksport SC and the marina of the same name. We thought it strange to have a place named the same as Bucksport in Maine.
Come to find out (from our cruising guide and not the locals as they had no idea) that the Captain Buck of Bucksport Maine is one and the same as ......
of SC. He left Maine is search of even cheaper lumber. Thought it sounded too coincidental.
The marina was basic but a great stop. They were flooded out in last year's hurricane Florence and are rebuilding. The restaurant is not open yet. The great news it is the cheapest fuel we have found on the entire trip - $2.61/gallon with BoatUS discount and the dockage was only $0.75/foot as compared to $1.50 to 2.00/foot in most areas nearby.
And so from Buckport SC (and looking forward to getting to Bucksport, ME) the crew of Perelandra wishes you .......
Good Night and May God Bless
