Day 49 Lock 45 Severn to Midland Bayport Marina, Saturday July 7, 2018

Day 49 Lock 45 Severn to Midland Bayport Marina, Saturday July 7, 2018

Clear sky at night.  Nice and cool at night for fine sleeping. The breeze remained from the NW but not as strong and temperatures was up in mid 70s - wonderful day

As this was the last day of the Trent Severn Waterway a few photos to fit the occasion.

The brisk breeze of yesterday gave me the chance to get a nice photo of the Canadian Flag. It seems a nice symbol of the end of the TSW.

And I like my TSW hat -$10 Canadian - with the date it was started - nearly two hundred years ago. What was it like up here then? I know it was not the pleasurable adventure we had.

Last night docked on the TSW docks.

And last sunset on the TSW - but Faye keeps talking about the "next time we come ...." So let's hope it's only the last for this trip with more to come.

The breakfast called me and we had a nice walk to a good little local restaurant.

The lock was busy when we went through. But the staff was working quickly and much more efficiently than at many of the other locks. And they packed them in.

We traveled about 7 miles to Midland and the BayPort Marina - need to do maintenance and resupply so will stay for a couple of days. It is a nice and large marina. Only $1.40 cdn per foot and they didn't get out the measurement stick. So dockage is only $45 US/day. Very nice

And for my boating friends back home fuel is $7.08 cdn per gallon or about $5.28 US with the exchange. But at our slow speed I increased our mileage from a normal average of 1.25 mi/gal to 2.50 mi/gal so the fill up was not bad.

And the town is just across the bay. There are still grain elevators and the ship below was there when we came in and in the photo below you can see it backing out of the port. They are very big ships!!

So time to relax and time to say...

Good Night and May God Bless
