We had a minor issue that needed attention first thing in the morning. Last night with a mouthful of toothpaste I turned on the water to rinse - or rather opened the facet with no result - and said hum - a mumbled hum account the full mouth. When I mumbled the situation to the Admiral, her response was "What about my ice?" I checked the pump and the motor was hot and would dim the lights when the pump switch was turned off to on - so there was hope that I might fix it in the morning. And here is the next morning start.
In short, I was able to fix it. The motor has permanent magnets attached to the steel motor casing. As it did 17 years ago, one magnet had come loose and grabbed the armature. Some JB weld kwik set and we were in the ice business again (trust the notation of priorities is not lost on you).
The pump repair delayed our departure some, but I only planned to travel about 11 miles. It was a beautiful ride. At the beginning all of the islands had camps or "cottages" on them and it was a little disappointing. But about half way there they began to thin out and scenery that we had hoped to see began to show up. We followed the small craft recommended route and took the secondary alternative twice to see more islands - a glorious ride.
We ended up in Indian Harbor.
It is a beautiful spot - it is on the recommended route so there are some wakes from passing boats, but it was fun to sit and watch them go by from the cockpit.
Here is shot of view from our front window.
In the afternoon I took the dinghy and rode into the little cove above - just marvelous. Note how now hardly a cloud in the sky. Some shots below.
I then rode around the island on the other side of the harbor.
Now this is what I was hoping and planning on seeing. Being a perfect day was a big heap of icing on the cake. And I have a good cell signal so you can see all the pictures.
Time to grill a steak and relax some more - so an early.......
Good Night and May God Bless
